What kind of feathers do you use?

The majority of my quills are made with turkey feathers, but I also use duck and pheasant feathers, depending on the look I'm going for.

Do you dye your own feathers?

Usually I purchase them pre-dyed, or use them in their natural colours. However, if you see a feather with a "fade" effect (paler at the base and darker at the tip), that is one I have dyed myself.

How do you decorate them?

Paint and a very fine brush! Most of the time I choose my designs based on the colour and shape of the feather--I like to see where the brush leads me.

There are quills in your gallery that are not in your store. Are they for sale?

Many of the quills in my gallery have already been sold. If you don't see them in the store, they have already been sold, donated, or gifted to a friend.

Do you take custom orders?

Sometimes I will take a limited number of custom orders when time allows. When I am accepting custom orders, I will offer them first to my mailing list, and then I will post on the website. Didn't you make some Harry Potter quills?

Yes, you can now see them at the bottom of the Quills Gallery.
